Film Industry for Dancers with Oriana Rodriguez

Oriana Rodriguez is a professional choreographer, director, dancer and actor born and raised in Venezuela. She has taken the industry by storm since moving to Vancouver. After completing the Intensive Training Program at Harbour Dance Centre, where she expanded her dance knowledge across a variety of genres, from the classic moves of Ballet and Jazz to the more modern styles of Hip Hop, and Contemporary, she began honing her Hip Hop foundations under the tutelage of the incredible Kim Sato, who lead SOULdiers Dance Company. Through her training, Oriana trained in Hip Hop, Popping, Locking, House, Waacking, and Breaking.

Oriana's talent and hard work have earned her a spot in several renowned dance companies, including PraiseTEAM's Sr. Showcase and TwoFourSeven Company. And when it comes to competitions, Oriana is a force to be reckoned with. She's taken home top prizes at some of the biggest national and international competitions around, including Artist Emerge, Hip Hop International, Bridge Dance Competition, BodyRock, VIBE, Dancer's Paradise, and more.

If that wasn't impressive enough, Oriana has also made a name for herself in the commercial world, appearing in ads and working on projects for big-name brands like Pokémon Go, Facebook, Pepto Bismol, Royal Bank of Canada, UBC, BC Lions, FrontDoor, Concord Pacific, even BTS’s very own Jimin and many more.

More recently, Oriana marked a significant milestone in her artistic journey by directing, producing, and choreographing a short dance film titled “REINS” spotlighted at Innovate Dance Showcase. The short brought together 85 individuals in its creation and it earned her a spot amongst a select few - A remarkable achievement given the extensive selection process from over 70 submissions.

Oriana's passion for dance goes beyond her own accomplishments, as she also shares her talents through teaching. With classes all over the lower mainland and a regular teaching slot at Harbour Dance Centre, Oriana inspires dancers of all skill levels to improve their technique and hone their craft and she cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her.
