Classes and the studio
What ages do you teach?
Classes at the studio start with Baby Moves for ages 5–6. Break Dance Olympic Path is for ages 6 and up on Olympic Path 1, and for ages 7 and up on Olympic Path 2. Hip Hop Baseline Path, Popping Control Lab Path and Ambassadors are for ages 7 and up, and the Saturday drop-in choreography classes are for ages 11 and up. Tiny Beats is not a studio class: it runs in daycares and early learning centres, for ages 2 to 5, through On The Move.
Does my child need dance experience?
No. Baby Moves is a beginner program, and hip hop, popping, break dance and waacking each have a Beginner class to start in. Ambassadors is the exception: entry to its first two leagues is by audition.
How do I book a free trial?
Choose a class and a date on the free trial page and send the form. The confirmation comes by email right away. For anything else, call the studio at (778) 994-7713. Our team responds within 24 hours.
What should my child wear and bring?
Comfortable clothes, clean indoor shoes and a water bottle. Please arrive 7–10 minutes before class.
When are classes held?
Dance classes run Monday to Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The studio is closed on Sunday. The office is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Where is the studio?
9304 Salish Ct, Burnaby, BC V3J 7B5. Classes run in two rooms, The Platform and The Lab.
When does the season run?
From September to June. The registration fee is paid once a season and covers one family member.
Do the dancers perform?
Yes. Every group takes part in the studio battles and in All Stars, the battle and showcase at the end of the season.
Do you offer drop-in classes?
Yes. Saturday drop-in choreography classes for intermediate dancers aged 11 and up are $20 + GST a class, with no long-term commitment.
Do you run camps?
Yes, for ages 7–14. Spring Break 2027 camps run 15–19 and 22–25 March. Summer 2027 dates are announced in spring. The camps page has the hours, plans and prices.
What is your refund policy for drop-ins and camps?
- Drop-in classes: Cancel 48 hours or more before the class for a full refund. If you cancel later, there is no refund. If the studio cancels the class, you get a make-up class or a credit on your account.
- Camps: Cancel 14 days or more before camp starts for a full refund. Cancel 7 to 13 days before for a 50% refund. If you cancel less than 7 days before, there is no refund. If the studio cancels a camp day, you get a full refund for that day.
- To cancel, email info@nextmovedance.com or call (778) 994-7713. The refund goes back to the card you paid with.
Can a school or daycare book a program?
Yes. On The Move brings single-day workshops, one-week programs, after-school programs and community performances to schools, daycares and organizations. Our partnerships team replies within 2 business days.

Pricing
When is the registration fee due?
The $50 registration fee is a one-time payment per season, covering September through June. It's due at the time of enrollment.
Can I add family members to my registration?
Absolutely. Your registration covers one family member. Each additional member can be added for just $10 extra on the registration fee.
Is tax included in the listed prices?
All prices shown are before tax. Applicable taxes will be added at the time of payment.
